The Twins: Year one.

"Happy birthday to youuuuuu..." Alison was singing to the twins as she got them bathed and dressed for their very first birthday party. She had been singing all day. All sorts of songs, with Happy Birthday randomly thrown in. Hana giggled every time Alison elongated the word 'you'. Aiden was too busy playing with the plushie frog face on his new shirt.

"Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuu!" More giggles. Alison tugged a pink shirt with a fluffy, white lamb's face on it over the little girl's head. Each baby had matching pants and little socks to go with the shirts.

She scooped up one wiggle worm in each arm and headed down the stairs to the living room. "Happy birthday, Aiden and Hanaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Happy Birthday to you!"

Asuka was eying her niece and nephew as the cake for the adults was getting passed out. She would have sighed, but she knew it was futile. She mentally called dibs on Hana. Her mother could deal with the boy who thought he was a frog.

Lisa was second in line for cake. Gloria Jean beat her by seconds! But, that was okay. She still got some. And they sat together at the table, giggling at the babies tearing through their cake. Mmmmm... cake.

John waited, leaning up against the door frame as the others went for cake. He didn't mind being last. Stampedes scared him.

Rogue gets a piece for her and her husband before the boys swoop in asking for huge chunks of cake. She settles down a chair away from Gloria Jean, leaving the chair next to her step-daughter for Dakota.

Dakota settled in and did his best to ignore the giggling and chattering by him. it seemed to get louder the more cake the two girls ate.

He wondered how long it was going to be before Alison and Longshot disappeared...

Not long, Dakota! It was a good thing Alison was coordinated. She ate her cake without ever taking her eyes off of her husband. By the third bite, she was lost in a day-dream fantasy about frosting...

Longshot was oblivious to day-dream fantasies, he was busy making sure everyone had enough cake. And then he blinked and wondered how his babies managed to get frosting there.

Next, he was eating his own slice of cake and making nummy noises. Sometimes, taking care of the babies lingered into what should have been more grown up time.

A bare foot slipped over under the table and started rubbing up and down Longshot's inside leg. The wife will be noticed now!

Longshot jumped and bumped the table at the sudden touch. He hadn't quite been expecting that. He grinned and apologized to people. The excuse of a sudden sugar rush seemed to work.

Then he looked over at his wife and raised an eyebrow.

Yay! Notice! Alison smiled at her husband. The smile slowly heated up to a leer the longer she maintained eye contact.

My, his wife certainly had boobs today. He nodded slowly before collecting up dirty plates. That left people to talk to each other and him to have an excuse to get up and exit the room.

Alison waited as long as she could stand to before getting up and saving her goodbyes. Even though she didn't explain why she was leaving, they all knew. Well, except the kids. Hopefully.

She kissed the twins and disappeared to go upstairs.
