The Twins: Year one.
"Happy birthday to youuuuuu..." Alison was singing to the twins as she got them bathed and dressed for their very first birthday party. She had been singing all day. All sorts of songs, with Happy Birthday randomly thrown in. Hana giggled every time Alison elongated the word 'you'. Aiden was too busy playing with the plushie frog face on his new shirt.
"Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuu!" More giggles. Alison tugged a pink shirt with a fluffy, white lamb's face on it over the little girl's head. Each baby had matching pants and little socks to go with the shirts.
She scooped up one wiggle worm in each arm and headed down the stairs to the living room. "Happy birthday, Aiden and Hanaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Happy Birthday to you!"

"How's my baby birthday girl? All ready to turn one? Huh?" He kissed her forehead. Daddy fingers tickled her belly before booping the little lamb nose on her shirt.

"No baby for grandpa?" Grabby hands. Gimmie!

She wandered over to Rogue and gave Winona a little tickle under her chubby chin. "How's the newest arrival today?"
Hana laughed and wiggled in her Daddy's arms. Then he booped her sheepie! She gave him an astonished look for a second, before bursting into fresh giggles. Silly Daddy.

He adjusted his hold on his daughter and then lifted her so she was above him. He craned his neck up to look at her. "You find that silly, Miss Junior Bird Girl?"
no subject
"Hello little birthday boy. You're getting big. We'll be buying you a car soon, huh?"

Her husband is probably taking a nap right now, dang him. Rogue looks around for one of her step-sons. "Rodney, go get your Daddy down here."

Alison thought about asking for the baby, but Winona looked comfy snuggled up there with her mommy.

He glanced over at John. "Motorcycles more likely. These are Ali's babies."

Aiden giggled at grandpa's silly noises. He squeezed the frog face on his shirt between chubby hands.
"Lookit the frog!" John grinned and tickled Aiden under the chin.

"Want to hold her, lightengale? Y'all seem to be without baby at the moment."

She scooped Winona up and snuggled her into a shoulder. "I gotta baby now!"
Hana snuggled in to her Daddy's chest and babbled happily against his shoulder. There were a lot more recognizable words in her babbling these days.

He listened to what his daughter had to say. "Did those sheep manage to eat Mommy and Daddy's underwear? That might explain why I have some missing pairs."
no subject
"Hey," he said to Longshot. "You've got something on your shoulder, there." He booped Hana's nose lightly.
no subject
"Y'all seem to have a touch there, lightengale. What exercises did you do to earn extra comfy shoulders?" She grins as she teases. It is nice to see Alison be the picture of a contented mother.

Hana blinked at grandpa's nose booping and giggled. "Ga'pa!"

Then the Mojoworlder looked to see what was on his shoulder. All he saw was a giggling Hana. "Maybe its just drool?"
no subject
"Your son has many talents," he intoned wisely to Longshot. Then winked at Hana. "Yep. It's a Hana baby. And drool. But, she's a lady, so we won't discuss it."
no subject
He blinked at Alison. "Hey, you had my daughter. I miss all the weird births."
no subject
"No, handsome. Just in time." She gestures him over. "An' as much as Ali wants to steal my baby, she ain't gettin' her. Unless Ah get Hana in exchange."
no subject
"Nooooo. No take my Hana." She shook her head and pouted at Rogue. Longshot would cry. And then Alison would cry. And then all the babies would cry. Crying all over!
no subject
"So, if we're not discussing it... how do I know if I should refer to it as liquid glow?"
no subject
He handed Aiden off into Longshot's free arm and then peered at the shoulder in question. "It doesn't appear to be glowing. Does it usually?"
no subject
He looked between his wife and Alison. "As long as I have two daughters at the end of the night, I'm good."
