Promise kept.

After a night of ups and downs -- if she were entirely truthful, it was a lot more downs than ups -- Alison made good on her promise to her mother-in-law. She started out early. The babies were fed and kissed, and her husband snuggled thoroughly. It had almost given her time to talk herself out of leaving, but in the end, the jonin had gently nudged her out the door.

The trip required several portal hops through the Nexus. Instead of an Italian spa, Natasha had chosen an American spa in New York for Alison's gift. It was a good choice. Alison would have had a difficult time relaxing in Italy without speaking the language. And it was nice to see the States again. She hadn't realized that she missed the familiar sights and sounds.

The spa people had their work cut out for them, though. Alison was about as tightly wound as she had ever been. Getting her relaxed and happy was a task that usually only Longshot managed. And he did it with techniques that the people at the spa were not allowed to use.

Despite her reluctance and hesitance, she found herself relaxing as she received the full spa treatment. First, she enjoyed a full body massage. Even ger toes got some attention. That had been the part she didn't think she'd like, but once it started she melted right into the table. Longshot's were better, but it was also nice to get a rub down without any sexual expectations at the end. In fact, the only expectation at the end of the massage was a long soak in an herb infused hot tub.

Over the next few hours, Alison was pampered within an inch of her life. Her hair was trimmed and highlighted. She got a manicure and a pedicure; a facial and a make-over. Even an acupuncture treatment. She wasn't afraid of the needles anymore. Once every conceivable treatment had been lavished on her, she finally emerged into the afternoon sun. It was on the edge of her mind to head for home, but the day was only half over and she had been told to take it for herself, so... shopping!

It was nice to wander the mall and spend some time just looking. Window shopping was a lost art. Eventually, she found some new clothes that she had to have. And some toys for the babies. Well, she couldn't completely forget them all day, after all. Not even if she tried. Nor could she stop thinking about her husband. She wondered if he was thinking about her? He said he would miss her today. She'd have to find him something, too. Hmmm.

Ah, wait. She had the perfect idea. And she knew right where to find it.

The walk home took a bit longer than the trip to the spa. Mostly because she was enjoying the early evening air and the slow sunset. She was never without light, so the night didn't worry her. But, she wanted to get home before too late. No need to worry anyone.

She hummed softly to herself as she mounted the steps to the front door and opened it. As she toed off her sandals in the entryway, she called out, "I'm home!"

"For a minute," he answered. He had just done some marathon feeding, and their babies were wiggleworms. Thus, why he was not wearing a shirt. It smelled like formula and was tossed in the laundry room. Normally, this wouldn't have been all that tiring, but he had gone back to camp and trained with Makoto. She had pushed hard.

He oohed softly at the view up Alison's skirt. He might have seen it before, but he still liked it. Though he thought about unsprawling to show appreciation. He decided against it.

"Yes. Yes, we did. Aiden got a little crabby without nice boobs to rest his head against while he got a bottle. Hana thinks Daddy changes diapers funny. And nobody hugged me when I got home from camp."

Once her children were kissed, snuggled, and squeezed, Alison turned back to her sprawled out husband. It was a nice view and for a moment, she just admired her hubby sans shirt. But, then she wandered back over to him and sat down lightly on his thighs.

"Poor thing. If you sit up, you can have your hug now." She smiled at him.

Before Longshot could sit up, Maponos leaped! He landed on Longshot's belly. He stood on his back legs and reached for Alison. The pygmy marmoset wanted a hug, too!

He hadn't even gotten a pat on the head today.

"Awwwwwwwww!" Alison couldn't help herself. She was a sucker for the tiny simian. She chuckled as she scooped Maponos up from Longshot's belly and raised him to her cheek for a marmoset sized hug. She even got a kiss on the head. "Yes, I missed you, too."

Maponos made some sort of cooing sound as he had affection lavished on him. Longshot sat up and squinted at his pet simian. The monkey took his hug!

Alison gently set Maponos down and patted him on his head. "I think Aiden is missing you, now. Watch your tail," she advised him. Aiden would dearly love to get a fistful of fur to shove in his mouth. Sadie had discovered that the hard way a time or two.

Once monkey snuggles were done with, Alison turned back to Longshot and grinned. "Still want that hug?" She opened her arms invitingly.

"Yes!" Then he hugged his wife tight! It had been odd to come home without her here, but he knew she needed it. She was looking better and more relaxed.

He kissed her shoulder. "Spa good?"

"Mmmmm." Alison squeezed him back just as tightly. It was good to snuggle up with her hubby. She hadn't seen him all day! When he eased off, she looped her arms lightly around his neck and smiled.

"Yeah, it was. I was scrubbed and polished and pampered all day long. I'll have to thank Tasha again next time I see her."

He glanced down. Longshot did not remember this shirt right off-hand. Though the cleavage showing was very familiar. "Did they polish and scrub your boobs? Because I have to go out and kick some spa butt. They look real nice though..."

Alison followed his gaze and laughed. The shirt had been a wise purchase, it seemed. It had caught his attention, at least.

"No, my boobs were left alone. They did get a nice, long, hot herbal bath though." She grinned and wiggled happily. It had been a good day. "Like my new outfit?"

"Not as much as the woman wearing it," he answered. "But it's real pretty."

Since his wife hadn't gotten off of him and was still holding on, he kissed her. He didn't get one of those when he got home either!

Though he thought he heard Hana clapping about the kiss. He cracked open an eye to peer at her.

Their daughter was, indeed, clapping and giggling over their kiss. Alison laughed and shook her head. What had Miyuki been saying to the baby when Alison was not in earshot?

"No clapping for you, young lady!" Alison said with a mostly straight face. "You're not dating until you're twenty."

"Twenty?" Longshot scratched his head. If that was the rule around here, how did he stop Robbie and Miyuki? Neither was near 20.

Aiden raspberries the whole idea. The Mojoworlder had no idea where his son picked that one up.

Hana thought her Mommy was funny when she made faces and pointed her finger like that. She giggled more and kicked her feet as she swung. Sadie peeked her head up to lick little wiggling toes. That only made Hana giggle more.

Alison blew a kiss to her son. Then she smiled at Longshot. "Only kidding, sweetheart. She'll probably be dating before she's twenty."

Although, not too soon, she hoped.

"Oh. Good. Because I was having a hard time figuring out how to break the new rule to Robbie and Miyuki." Though Asuka may or may not have looked forward to enforcing that one. He kept his arms around Alison, leaving them settled low on her waist.

"So, was today good for you?" He hoped so. He would let her have as many as she needed. Despite coming home to a castle that felt kind of empty, the results were wonderful. He should know. They were sitting on his lap.

"Yes, let's not break any little teenage hearts." She chuckled softly. Poor Robbie. He was still jittery around Asuka. It must be love, since he figured he was risking death every day to be with her. It was kind of sweet.

"Yeah. It was," she answered after a little thought. "I mean... I missed you. And I missed the babies. But, it was relaxing to get out by myself for a day. I forgot how nice it was just to wander around the Mall in the Nexus and just look at stuff."

He kissed her cheek. "Let me know when you need another one. It's not so bad. We missed you, but Daddy will have fun getting to know Mommy again later."

Longshot waggled his eyebrows as he hugged her again. As long as she didn't need another day again tomorrow, he was fine. He got plenty of alone time, whether people knew it or not. It was only fair Alison got some when she needed it.

"I think I'll be alright for a while." She hadn't really known she needed the day away. It had been pointed out to her. Hopefully, she would recognize the need when it arose again.

She laughed and snuggled in, hugging him back. He would have plenty of time to get to know her again. She didn't plan to go anywhere for a while.

"I love you, cutie."

"Love you, too, buttercup," he murmured against her hair. Then he sniffed. Mmm. She smelled good. Not as good as when he made her sweaty, but really who could do that but him?

"So you went to the spa and got non-boob massages and looked at things in windows at the Mall?"

Eee! He was sniffing her! For some reason, that made her giggle a lot. She squeezed him and snuggled close.

"Yup. Massages, foot rubs, they painted my toenails... I even got an acupuncture treatment. It didn't put me to sleep this time, though."

"I think Haha knows stuff regular acupuncturists don't." He was certain of that because regular acupuncturists could probably do very little to the Mojoworlder.

"Soooo..." He wiggled a little. "Get the babies anything?"

He was going to ask for himself, but if the babies got something, maybe he would, too.

"Probably. She's been doing it longer. And she had ninja teachers." Although, it had managed to be relaxing. That was just a really strange thought, considering that it had involved being stabbed by lots of needles.

"Maaaaaaybe." She leaned back and grinned at him. Something told her that he wasn't just asking for the twins sake. "There might have been some irresistible toy stores in the Mall. Wanna see?" She kissed the end of his nose. He was so cute.

"Yes!" It was a mini-struggle, but Longshot unwound his arms from around Alison's waist. Baby presents! Toys! Wheeeee!

For the moment, he forgot he was supposed to be angling for something for himself. Though, he already had a good view of Alison's cleavage...

"Okay. Just a sec'..." She grinned and bounced to her feet. The bags were still in the entryway. She hurried to retrieve them. The less time spent away from her hubby, the happier she would be.

"Here we go!" She sat back down in his lap, turned to the side this time, and rummaged through the bags. Then she pulled out two green, caterpillar looking toys with yellow faces and little green hats. "Ever seen with a baby glow worm?"

She handed one to him. "Squeeze it."

Longshot waited patiently. He tilted his head a little as she rummaged through the bags. He raised an eyebrow at what she pulled out. She was giving their babies insects...

He took the bug and inspected it. Then he squeezed it. His eyes widened a little.
